Myrtle Honey
The symbol of Sardinia, in a jar
Myrtle (Myrtus communis) is Sardinia. It is the liqueur of celebrations, the branch at traditional weddings, the ubiquitous shrub along every path on the island.
Those who have walked in the Sardinian maquis in July know the scent of myrtle in bloom: aromatic, intense, intoxicating. It is one of the most characteristic scents of the Mediterranean, and our bees collect its nectar with dedication.
Myrtle honey is among the most difficult to produce: the bloom is short, bees must work quickly, and the yield per hive is limited. But the result is incomparable — rich amber, aromas of myrtle, bergamot and red fruit, a honey that captures the soul of the island.
Intensely aromatic of wild myrtle, with notes of bergamot, red fruit and fragrant resins. Persistent and sophisticated.
